Dr. Schlafly was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri and attended St. Louis Priory High School. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and French from Stanford University in 1976 and graduated from Washington University School of Medicine in 1980. He completed his Orthopedic Surgery internship and residency at Barnes Hospital and Washington University in St. Louis in 1985 and was board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons in 1987. He joined Woods Mill Orthopedics in 1985 and is affiliated with St. Luke’s Hospital, where he is the current Chief of Orthopedic Surgery. Dr. Schlafly is a member of the Missouri State Orthopedic Society, AMA, American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery, and the St. Louis Medical Society.
